I think this is a nav-light arrangement on a small 'sold' mast assembly
A Long Legged Spider Crab (Macropodia rostrata) there are loads on all or most sites, this is the most common 'camouflage'.
Work over the site and you will see odd bits of iron jammed into cracks and fissures on the sea-bed
This is a section of hull, you can kinda see that the inside of the hull is on the bottom and comprises of a mesh of flat wooden sections, the actual hull is face up and looks like what it is....flat steel
Moving down the slope it starts 'easing off' and the boulders become a bit smaller....
Until you reach the bottom 'proper' in about 25m of water which is gravel and sand for ever....
Another shot of the propellor tip, this time from the side, maybe looking at the two shots it makes sense.
Nudibranch alert! This particular species appears to have electric blue tips when viewed in the water.
This is a swimming shot of a Greater Spotted Dogfish, or Bull Huss or catshark or Nursehound (Scyliorhinus stellaris) they are becoming a more common visitor every year.
Knacker Hole contains loads of blue fineds, that is to say Common Lobsters (Homarus gammarus) it really is a case of picking a hole and waiting until the monster emerges!
An 'A' frame located adjacent to the stern of SS Mistley, not surprising bearing in mind that she was a steam trawler.
Trying to give some sort of sense of scale how large the rock formations stand off the bottom, in this case the goody and lift bag stand about 7ft tall
Debris all around and most unidentifiable, in this case it's a section of hull plating.
And here is the business end of a Seven Armed Starfish (Luida ciliaris) a bit of a prehistoric throw-back this monster!
An arty fary half and half shot
Most of the time you are dropped in and see this, a forest of kelp (Order Laminariales)
Lost fishing net, at least its not monofilament drift or tangle net!
Head up the slope from the boilers in a south westerly direction and you will find a jumble of winches and machinery
A Common Hermit Crab (Pagurus bernhardus) this one is in a winkle shell and was quite happy trying to stare me down, cheeky little blighter!
The rock face on 'The Hopper', its a straight drop into about 18m of water, with little or no weed, only a little kelp near the top of the face and then some filter feeders lower down. A lovely little site!
