More 'bits' found of the Antikythera mechanism

I have written previously about the worlds oldest computer, well it seems that they have found another 'bit'!

This remarkable item was found on a pretty bog standard merchant vessel which was apparently carrying booty from Greece back to Rome and sank en-route.

It's discovery caused quite a stir as it moved backwards in time such devices, not by tens of years but by upwards of a millenium.

After some summer diving where a number of items were found over what must now be a well picked site and one of the parts found looks like an addition to the device, it should be interesting to see how the engineers and scientist incorporate this piece into the existing mechanism and if it's inclusion improves our understanding of this remarkable item.
